VAT Report Guide
A control report that summarizes transaction VAT and input VAT for the period, and shows the expected VAT payable or refundable - for one or multiple companies.
What the report shows
The VAT report summarizes all the business's tax documents and expenses for the period, and calculates the expected VAT payable or refundable. Transactions are taken from documents issued in iCount - both those issued from biz and those issued directly in iCount.
- VAT-taxable transactions
- Tax invoices and tax invoices/receipts, before VAT. Credit notes are shown as negative amounts.
- Transaction VAT
- VAT on transactions.
- Input VAT
- VAT on expenses, based on the recognized VAT percentage for each expense (NIS tax invoices only).
- VAT on equipment and fixed assets
- VAT on fixed assets purchased during the period, based on the recognized percentage.
- VAT payable / refundable
- Transaction VAT less input VAT less fixed-asset VAT.
How to generate the report
Open the report
Go to the "VAT Report" program. The site name (site:) appears in the heading so you know which company the report is for.
Select a year and period
A bimonthly period (January-February through November-December) or "Annual" for the entire year.
Select sites
Super admins see a checkbox for every site connected to iCount. Select one site for a regular report, or multiple sites for a combined report.
Open details
Clicking the ▼ triangle in a summary row opens the list of documents included in it.
Print or save as PDF
The "Print / PDF" button prints the report with the site name and without the screen buttons.
Combined report for multiple companies
When multiple companies report VAT together, select all their sites. The report summarizes them all in the summary rows, and the details include a "Site" column showing which company each document belongs to. For a company that reports separately, generate a report with only its site.
Site selection is available to super admins only. Regular users always see the report for their own site.
Tips
- At the end of each period, compare with the "Transaction Summary" report in iCount.
- If older documents are missing, run the document history import from iCount for the relevant date range.
- Set the correct recognized VAT percentage for each expense and asset - it determines the input VAT.
- Check the "site:" heading to make sure the report is for the correct company before printing.
Frequently Asked Questions About the VAT Report
Does the report replace filing with the tax authority?
No. This is a control report. The official filing is done through iCount, and this report helps you see what to expect in advance and verify that the figures match.
Which documents are included in transactions?
Tax invoices and tax invoices/receipts. Credit invoices are included as negative amounts. Receipts, orders and delivery notes are not included.
Are invoices issued directly in iCount also included?
Yes. An invoice issued in iCount reaches biz as a mirror document (webhook), and older documents are added through the document history import. All are counted in the report by document date.
How do I generate a joint report for two companies?
Select both sites. The report summarizes both together, the heading displays both names (for example, site: Easybike + Ayala), and the detail tables include an additional "Site" column.
Why doesn't my third company appear in the list?
The list includes only active sites connected to iCount. After connecting the site on the "iCount link to bizlayers by site" page, it will appear automatically.
How do I verify that the report is correct?
Compare it with the "Transaction Summary" report in iCount for the same period: the total before VAT, VAT and total including VAT should be identical.
