Menu Management Guide - Menu Manager
Site admin guide: how to build the system and site menus, drag folders and programs, rename items, and choose icons.
What the Menu Manager Does
The Menu Manager controls what users see in the menu: which programs appear, in which folders, in what order, under which name, and with which icon. There are two separate menus - ERP for the management system menu and WEB for the site menu.
Programs are taken from the system's program catalog. A program dragged into the menu is added with its catalog name, icon, and price. You can then change the name and icon for your business.
Screen Sections
- Top Bar
- Screen title and switching between the ERP and WEB menus. Super admins also see a site list, where they can select a site and edit its menu.
- Program Catalog (Left)
- All programs available for the menu, with price and name search. Light blue background - program not yet assigned. Gray background - program already in the menu; its folder appears below the name.
- Menu Area
- Folders appear as green bars with the item count and total; an empty folder appears in gray. Each program row shows the program number, icon, name, link to open the program, and price. A blue drag handle ⋮⋮ appears beside each row.
Building a Menu, Step by Step
Choose Which Menu to Edit
In the top bar, click ERP for the management system menu or WEB for the site menu. Each has a separate structure.
Create a Main Menu
Right-click an empty area -> Add Parent Menu, enter a name, and click Create.
Add Submenus
Right-click a folder -> Add Child, enter a name, and click Create.
Drag Programs from the Catalog
Drag a program from the catalog on the left and drop it onto the desired folder.
Arrange by Dragging
Drag a folder or program to its new location: into a folder, before or after a row, or to the top level.
Set a Name and Icon
Rename by clicking the name or right-clicking -> Rename. Choose an icon and color by right-clicking -> Choose Icon.
Check Your Work
Open the folders and check the order. The link icon in a program row opens the program in a new tab.
Dragging: Adding, Moving, and Arranging
All changes to the menu structure are made by drag and drop. During dragging, the system marks in green where the row will be placed, and every drop is saved immediately.
Where to grab
Folder - grab the folder bar itself, or the blue ⋮⋮ handle beside it. Program - grab the blue ⋮⋮ handle (click the name itself to rename it).
Add program from catalog
Drag a program from the catalog and drop it: on a folder - the program is added to it. On a program row - the program is added to that folder. On an empty area - the program is added at the top level. The same program can be placed in more than one location.
Move into a folder
Release on Middle The target folder bar. Before release, the entire bar is marked with a green dashed border. The row is added at the end of the folder, and the folder remains open after saving. A folder moves with all its contents.
Position before or after a row
Release on Top edge of a row - to place it before the row, or on Bottom edge - to place it after the row. A thick green line marks the position. This also works when the row is in another folder or at another level - the row moves there and is placed at the marked position.
Move to the top level
Release on an empty area of the screen, outside the rows. The entire area is marked with a green border, and the row moves to the end of the top level.
What is not possible
A folder cannot be placed inside itself or one of its subfolders - such targets are not marked, and dropping does nothing. If a move fails on the server, a message explains why.
Right-click - all actions
Right-clicking a row opens an action menu for that row. Right-clicking an empty area opens a menu for creating a main menu. Clicking anywhere else closes the menu.
- Choose Icon
- Opens the icon and color picker (details below).
- Link to File
- Assign a file path to the row, for example /admin/file.php. Type it and click Save Link.
- Rename
- Change the name displayed in the menu - for a folder or program.
- Add Child
- Folders only: create a new folder inside it.
- Delete
- Delete the row from the menu immediately, without confirmation. The program itself is not deleted from the system and returns to the catalog as unassigned.
- Add Parent Menu
- On an empty area: create a new folder at the top level.
Rename a menu or program
The name displayed in the menu does not have to match the catalog name - a program or folder can be named in the business's language.
Rename by clicking the name
In a menu item row, click the name, delete it, and enter a new name. The name is saved when you leave the field by clicking elsewhere on the screen.
Rename with a right-click
Right-click a folder or program → Rename, enter a new name, and click OK. The page refreshes with the new name. This is how to rename a folder.
Icon and color for the menu
Each folder and program can have its own icon and color, which also appear in the menu users see.
Choose an icon
Right-click the row → Choose Icon. A large window opens with an icon library and search. Choose a color and click the desired icon.
Saving
The icon and color are saved immediately and the window closes. The icon changes in the row without refreshing. Cancel closes the window without making changes. The next time it opens, the window displays the row's current color.
Programs related to menu management
- Dashboard
- The screen where users see the menu built here. The Dashboard link is at the top of the catalog.
- Program management (Super Admin)
- The catalog itself — which programs exist, along with their names, icons, and prices.
- Icon selection
- The window opened from Choose Icon.
Tips for working with the menu
- First build the folder structure, and only then drag programs.
- Use no more than 3 menu levels: main menu ← submenu ← program. The system allows more, but deep menus are harder to navigate.
- To place an item inside a folder, aim for the middle of its bar; to place it before or after, aim for the top or bottom edge.
- Short, clear names in the business's language help users find programs.
- Using the same icon color for all programs in one area makes the menu easier to scan.
- Delete removes items immediately, without confirmation — double-check, especially when deleting a folder.
Frequently asked questions about menu management
How many menu levels are allowed?
The system has no limit — you can nest folders to any depth. We recommend no more than 3 levels (main menu ← submenu ← program), so users can find a program in two or three clicks.
How do I move a folder into another folder?
Drag the folder — from its bar or the blue handle ⋮⋮ — and drop it in the middle of the target folder's bar, when it is outlined with a green dashed border. Everything inside the folder moves with it.
How do I move a folder back to the top level?
Drag it and drop it in an empty area of the screen, when the entire area is outlined in green.
Why can't I move a folder into one of its subfolders?
Because the folder would end up inside itself. The system does not mark such a destination, and the server blocks it as well.
Is the name I entered saved?
Yes. The name in the program row is saved when you leave the field — by clicking elsewhere on the screen or moving to another tab.
What is the difference between ERP and WEB?
ERP is the management system menu. WEB is the website menu. Each has its own folders and programs.
Why are some programs in the catalog grayed out?
Gray indicates a program that is already in the menu, with its folder shown below the name. A program on a light blue background has not yet been assigned.
What is the amount next to each folder?
The total prices of all programs in the folder, including subfolders.
The move failed — what should I do?
The system displays a message explaining the reason for the failure. Refresh the page and try again; if the message reappears, send it to Support.
Can I edit another site's menu?
A super admin sees a list of sites in the top bar and can select a site and edit its menu. A regular admin can edit only their site's menu.
